Accounts Payable Manager

​Sharp Consultancy is working with a well-established business based in Harrogate, seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their finance team on a 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on professional to lead the AP function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, ensuring high performance and accuracy.

  • Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and reconciliations.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices in line with company policies.

  • Manage supplier relationships and act as escalation point for queries.

  • Review and improve AP processes, implementing efficiencies and controls.

  • Support month-end close activities, including accruals and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, audit requirements, and internal policies.

  • Work closely with senior finance stakeholders and wider business teams.

  • Assist with system improvements or finance transformation initiatives.

About You

  • Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Manager / Supervisor role.

  • Strong technical knowledge of AP processes, controls, and best practices.

  • Experience managing and developing a team.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.

  • Confident using finance systems and Excel.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Immediate or short notice availability preferred.
