Accounts Assistant

​Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be working with an established manufacturing business in Huddersfield who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a 12 month temporary basis. This role sits within the Accounts Department and offers the opportunity to be part of a structured finance function within a professional and supportive environment. This role is ideal if you have a small amount of experience within a finance role and are looking to take on more responsibility.

Reporting to the Finance Director and supporting the Assistant Accountant, the Accounts Assistant will play a key role in ensuring invoices are checked, matched and processed accurately and in a timely manner

Responsibilities will include:

  • Processing electronic invoices for authorisation.

  • Purchase ledger administration.

  • Liaising with the purchase ledger order team, Purchasing Manager and Logistics Manager.

  • Liaising with suppliers and responding to queries.

  • Matching supplier delivery notes.

  • Processing incoming supplier statements.

  • Managing and maintaining electronic supplier files.

  • Completing and issuing new supplier account applications.

  • Inputting new supplier details onto Sage X3 and completing credit account forms.

  • Assisting with annual budget reports for accounts audit.

  • Retaining invoice copies for environmental audit preparation.

  • Managing returnable packaging spreadsheets.

  • Managing internal debit notes and matching to supplier credit notes.

  • Supporting the Assistant Accountant with ad hoc tasks and projects.

  • Adding and completing internal quality records as required.

About You

  • This role would suit a professional and highly organised individual with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work. You will be confident communicating with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, with the ability to query and challenge where appropriate.

  • You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, able to prioritise tasks effectively and demonstrate strong administrative skills. A motivation to learn, develop and grow within the Accounts Assistant role will be key to success.
