Accounts Assistant

Sharp Consultancy are currently working with a well-established business in Huddersfield who are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant on a 12 month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone taking their first step into a finance career, whether you are AAT studying/qualified or a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience within a finance function.

 

About the role

Working as part of a supportive finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and finance duties, helping to support the day-to-day running of the finance department.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with purchase and sales ledger duties

  • Processing invoices and expenses

  • Supporting reconciliations and data entry

  • Assisting with month-end activities

  • Maintaining accurate financial records

  • General finance and administration support as required

 

About you

This position would suit someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and keen to develop a career in finance.

We are keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Are studying AAT, recently AAT qualified, or are a graduate in finance, accounting, or a related discipline

  • Have strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work

  • Are confident using Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

  • Have good communication skills and a positive attitude

  • Are comfortable working in a full-time, office-based role

  • Previous finance experience is beneficial but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
