HAYDN HORNER NAMED YOUNG ACCOUNTANT OF THE YEAR
Haydn Horner from PwC has been awarded the prestigious Sharp Consultancy Young Accountant of the Year accolade for 2018. The award was presented to Haydn at a glittering awards ceremony held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
The competition was established in 2000 and is run by the financial recruitment specialists Sharp Consultancy in conjunction with the West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants. The awards recognise the best of the region’s accountants who are either training to be qualified or have been qualified for up to two years.
Haydn excelled in each of the assessment areas during the final interview with the panel of judges commending him for his commitment to his chosen career and for demonstrating the qualities needed to succeed in the future.
Lee Sweeney, Executive Director at Sharp Consultancy added: “Over the many years that we have run the Young Accountant of the Year we have seen some exceptional candidates and Hayden is yet another shining example of the strength and depth of young talent which we have in our region. The final decision was one of the most difficult that I have been involved in but all the judges were in agreement that in Haydn we had found someone who will develop into an outstanding business leader of the future.”
Grant Jackson of KPMG was named runner-up with Ross Wilson of PwC taking third place. The other finalists were Matthew Norval (EY), Richard Thomas (KPMG) and Molly Raw (Grant Thornton).
